Xerox Star
- The first Xerox Star, or the Xerox 8010 Information System, was invented in 1981 by David C. Smith, Charles Simonyi, and Butler Lampson.
- The invention of the Xerox Star was important because it was the first commercial consumer computer that was able to implement many other technologies that weren't standard at that time. It was one of the first computers that allowed people to make documents with words and pictures.
- The workstation predecessor of the Xerox Star was the Alto.
- A fun fact about the Xerox Star is that over 30,000 Stars were sold.
