Baby

• The Manchester Small-Scale Experimental Machine (also known as the baby) was invented in 1948 by University of Manchester researchers Frederic Williams, Tom Kilburn, and Geoff Toothill.
• The baby changed the history of computers because this was the first program in history to run on a digital, electronic, stored-program computer. The baby could store its own instructions with a 32 bit word length.
