Astrolabe
- It was invented/developed in 115BCE - 1600 CE.
- The Astroblabe was used during the Islamic Golden Age (Dar al Islam) to determine moon/star position as well as identify stars and planets. The original astrolabe was made with brass.
- Islamic scientists used the astrolabe to make astronomical measurements. It could not, however, calculate the speed of a ship in nautical miles per hour.
